Book Cover Choices for Bloodlines and Barbed Wire

My new book, Bloodlines and Barbed Wire: A Tangled Roots Mystery, is nearing the finish line. It’s in the editing stage now. The book cover designer sent me six possible book cover designs last night. Now comes the hard part: how can I choose the cover?

None of these give me a feeling of tangled roots of dangerous barbwire. The grey, moody one is adequate. Most of the rest are too bright and jolly.

Where in Germany? I have to agree with Nina none of these work for me. They are a bit too travel guide cover to evoke feelings of danger. No 1 reminds me of Nice in France and I thought of Prague when I looked at number 4.
