I’ve received a lot of requests from readers for the sequel to Breadcrumbs and Bombs, A Tangled Roots Historical Mystery and I’m really excited about that upcoming book, Bloodlines and Barbed Wire, A Tangled Roots Historical Mystery. I’ve been working o it for a couple months now, and I’m a little over one-third of the way done with the first draft. I’d hoped to be further along by this time.
For a while, I had to stop writing because of travel, new roof, etc. but now I’m back to work and working hard. Another reason it’s taking me a while is that I have to do a lot of research. As I get further into the history and into World War II, I’m finding the need to dig deeper and look for good details that I can use to really make the story seem real. That’s important to me and to readers, I think. Also, the middle of a book is usually the most difficult to write. I’m getting there, though.
I’ll try to keep you posted. Yesterday, I made some changes to my plot and now know that I will also need to do more research about Italy and Poland. I’m making good progress and hope to have a complete rough draft in late November or early December.
